May 03, 2009 · I was cutting some 16 ga hot roll steel and was not impressed with my outcome. I have heard that cold roll steel (P and O) works better. cold rolled requires more effort and more adjustments..but in the end it all comes down to the price thats why i use hot rolled Top. The Difference Between Flame Cutting, Plasma Cutting and
Flame cutting is also typically slower than plasma cutting and waterjet cutting. Due to the heat involved in flame cutting, the metal edges being cut can often form a thin and brittle layer of solidified steel, known as the decarburized layer.

Plate service centres offer bending, sawing, welding, machining, laser cutting, plasma cutting and waterjet cutting. Stainless steel hot-rolled black coils are made by hot rolling of slabs, and most of such coils are supplied to re-rollers.

CNC plasma/laser steel plates cutting customized cutting steel plates. 1. Cut steel plates into different shape products as per customers' need. The thickness, width and length of products can be customized. 2. Cutting methodlaser cutting, plasma cutting and flame cutting.
Oct 07, 2016 · I cut a lot of 16 gauge hot rolled steel, I have a Hypertherm 1000 using fine cut tips 40amps, 152imp I have the machine set up and it cuts very clean with minimal to no dross build up. My problem is when I go to cut 16 gauge cold rolled steel using the exact same set up it cuts like crap
Laser Cutting vs. Plasma Cutting (Ultimate Difference
However, the plasma cutting machine can cut 6-40mm steel plate with various model and power. The processing cost is relatively small. The laser cutter has high precisionthe positioning accuracy of the laser cutting machine is 0.05mm, and the re-positioning accuracy is 0.02mm, but require higher the working environment condition.
Plasma arc cutting is a great process for cutting mild steel plate, offering much higher speeds than oxy-fuel cutting, but sacrificing some edge quality. That is where plasma is tricky. Edge quality has a sweet spot that, depending on cutting current, generally ranges from about 1/4 inch up to 1.5 inches.

Common Materials Cut With Plasma Cutting Spring steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel are some of the most common types of metal cut with plasma cutting. It can be used for other metals, yet some exotic metals require shielding gases when welded or cut to prevent advanced oxidation.
Hot Rolled Steel Products and Processing O'Neal Steel
Hot Rolled Defined. Hot rolled steel is created by rolling steel at a high temperature that lends it to being easily shaped and formed. The mills that produce hot rolled are very efficient, consistently flattening the product into large rolls, which leads to lower costs for O’Neal Steel customers.
Plasma Cutting for Steel Materials -Tips and Guide
Cutting with plasma is an efficient method of slicing thin as well as thick steel plates and metal materials. Hand-held torches are able to cut steel plates as thick as 38 mm (1.5 in), and more powerful computer-controlled torches are able to slice steel as much as 150 mm (6 in) thick.
Electrically conductive ionized gas is called plasma, which is sometimes referred to as the fourth state of matter. Carefully controlled plasma is a fast and effective metal processing tool. With our high-definition plasma cutting machine, we can cut practically any two-dimensional part shape you require.
Gas selection guide for plasma cutting aluminum, stainless
Argon hydrogen is the hottest burning plasma gas and provides the maximum cutting capability. (Argon hydrogen is used in water injection torches up to 1000 amps for cutting up to 6" stainless). In multi-gas torches, Argon hydrogen provides a straight cut and a very smooth almost polished surface on
May 16, 2017 · Mild steel shouldn't be a problem for plasma cutting as there isn't enough carbon in the steel to create a hardened zone. With flame cutting, carbon can be introduced from the cutting process which can cause localized hardening. Cutting a hardenable steel with either plasma or flame is likely to create localized hardening.
